Bengaluru-Mysore Expressway is a ten-lane corridor from Mysuru's Columbia Asia junction to Bengaluru's Panchamukhi temple near the NICE Road junction, covering 117 km.  A six-lane access-controlled highway for traffic and a two-lane service road on either side for local traffic make up the 10-lane project.


The expressway also includes bypass roads for towns and cities along the way, such as Bidadi, Ramanagara, Channapatna, Maddur, Mandya, and Srirangapatna. As a part of Bharatmala Pariyojana, Phase I, the Bengaluru-Mysuru Economic Expressway, is being developed into ten lanes at the cost of INR 8,172 Cr. 

The building of the economic corridor began in two parts, with the first phase starting in May 2019 and stretching 56 kilometres from Bengaluru to Nidaghatta in Maddur. Nidaghatta is linked to Mysuru for the second leg of the project (started from December 2019), which covers about 61 kilometres. 

It will reduce travel time from 3 hours to only 90 minutes between the two cities. The massive Bengaluru-Mysuru Economic Corridor project is scheduled to be finished in October 2022.
